An ongoing collaboration with area K-12 instructors, this project focuses on discussing how genre studies and cultural historical activity theories can help us to think about practical changes in the ways we approach writing instruction in both K-12 and university settings. We began the project with a meeting in Fall 2011 where university-level instructors and instructors from the Clinton School District and University High School shared and discussed their writing pedagogies.
Instructors (either individually or as a group) who are interested in collaborating with us to build bridges between Illinois High School Students and Illinois State University (or even just more general discussions about successfully moving students from High School to College) should contact us at isuwriting@gmail.com .
We’d like to continue to meet with instructors from different school districts around Illinois, and we can plan meetings here at ISU or arrange to come and visit you in your school district.
