This week, we started with a writing prompt discussing their feelings about Unit 2 as a whole and what they learned from it. We talked about their complaints about the unit and how they would do their projects differently if they had the opportunity. Then, I introduced the Grassroots journal and the types of articles they would be writing for Unit 3. We did an activity where students looked through the archives and found articles as models that were of interest to them. Finally, we went around the room and shared the articles they found and discussed how they could be useful.
